Here are our nine steps to the beauties of a supercar:

1. Acceleration – Supercars are fast, going up to 160 mph in less than 6 seconds.

2. Design – Many supercars have rear-wheel drive layout, and a rear mid-engine. This makes better weight distribution which gives better traction by moving the engine to the back of the car. Read the rest of this entry »

The Ferrari camp is always special at all major auto shows across the globe and the one they’ll show in Geneva this year will be no different. It is a hybrid version of the 599 GTB.

The Ferrari 599 GTB Hybrid has been confirmed to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010. The hybrid version will sport a combination of an electric motor and a system of lithium-ion batteries, both of which will together be placed on either sides of the transaxle. Compared to the regular 599 GTB Fiorano, this one will come with a 35% improvement in fuel consumption. Also assisting the hybrid power-train will be a brake regeneration system, a start stop technology and an electric boost system.

Clapton loves his Ferrari

Eric Clapton, the guitar legend, has stated his love and passion for all things Ferrari. The former Cream frontman travelled to Maranello in Italy last week and was interviewed by Stefano Lai on www.ferrari.com.

“I love the sound of Ferraris and I, as a musician, can confirm that these engines deliver proper music.”

You can’t complain at that- Clapton certainly knows what he is on about. Perhaps the similarities between music and cars aren’t as far fetched as would initially seem- passion and obsessive attention for every single detail are certainly two obvious parallels.

Clapton, of course, took delivery of the first Enzo imported to the UK and was stopped by Parisian police after been clocked at 145mph a few years ago.

It’s hard to disagree with Clapton though, when he says, “I have to say my weak point is the 12-cylinders’ music”.
